EMMA’S STORY

Aloha,

I have been loving the RevHI life so far. God has been speaking to me, and revealing himself to me in new ways everyday. He continues to stretch me, and help me grow all the time. I’m learning so much about the bible, and God’s character.

Outreach on Sunday nights is one of my favorite things we do in RevHI. We have the opportunity to go out to the people, meet them where they’re at, and share the love of Jesus with them.

One Sunday night during outreach I was walking down Hotel St. There was a lady sitting on the sidewalk talking to herself. I sat down next to her, introduced myself, and offered her a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. She took it, and said her name was Rose. We talked about our weeks, and what was going on in our lives for a little. then she grabbed a little pocket bible out of her backpack, and asked me if I could read Ephesians 6 to her. Coincidentally that was our memory verse for the week. I read it, and then we broke it up, and went through each verse together to get a better understanding of the passage. We talked about being strong in the Lord, and putting on the armor of God, and how we could apply it to our lives. We prayed together, and I asked if she would come to church with me next Sunday and she said she would.

The people I’ve met on the street don’t have a lot, but they are still full of joy, because they know they have all they need, and that’s Jesus. They taught me how to find joy in all circumstances . God is a loving Father, He is good and He never changes. Life is hard sometimes, but God is still good and he doesn’t love us any less.
